Luggage must be packed in a soft carry on type bag not exceeding 80cm
x 30cm in dimension and 12kg in weight.
Please note that this 12 kg luggage limit includes any cameras, camera bags and
associated equipment. This is in accordance with
the light air charter
company’s safety regulations and must be adhered to. Charter companies
take the luggage limit very
seriously. If you have luggage
or camera gear in excess of the above regulations please advise your agent so
they
can
ensure that there is space and avoid any inconveniences and possible luggage
delays.
I have had a regular guest who has arrived off international flights
without his luggage on three occasions. Take his advice: make sure
you have a small bag,
taken as hand luggage, packed with essentials such as your toiletries, a change
of underclothes, spare shirt/shorts etc., as well as binoculars and camera(s).
In the event of your luggage being lost you are at least able to enjoy your safari.
It can take many days for your belongings to catch up with you once you have
gone into the bush. A problem is that luggage that goes missing on scheduled
flights is beyond ones control and often that of the airline as well. If your
checked-in luggage does not arrive you will at least have essential items to
see
you
through
the first few days while your bags catch up with you.
All luggage weight limits are due to safety factors
involved in the light aircraft transfers. Kindly note that should
these limitations be exceeded, it may be necessary to charge for
an additional aircraft or seat.
